The Set Button will lead you to the Set Credentials where you must provide the User Name and password for the user that is to be isolated.Īfter providing all the information, go to the Action pane that is available on the right hand side, in this pane an option is available named "Apply". After selecting this option you need to click on the "Set" button. If you select the third option (in other words FTP Home Directory Configured in Active Directory) then it will mean that it will isolate the User Session to the Home Directory that is configured in the Active Directory Account Setting of each user. If you select the second option (in other words User Name Physical Directory) then it will mean that it will isolate the User Session to only the physical directory with the same name that the FTP User Account has.
If you select the first option (in other words User Name Directory) then it will mean that it will isolate the user session to the physical or virtual directory with the same name that the FTP User Account has. If you want to isolate the user then don't select any option from the preceding described options, instead select one of the options available in the Isolate User category.
If you select this option then it will disable all the User Isolation and start the Folder Logic.īut if you select the second option then it will mean that all the FTP Sessions will start in the Physical or Virtual Memory with the same name as the currently logged on user has if the folder exists otherwise it will start in the root directory for the FTP Site. If you select the first option, in other words "FTP Root Directory", then that means that all the FTP Sessions will start in the root directory for the FTP Site. If you don't want the user to be isolated then select one of the the available categories under "Do Not Isolate the User". Now in the FTP User Isolation form, first you need to provide permission to isolate the user or not. In the FTP Category an option will be available named "FTP User Isolation". The virtual directory should have the same name as your FTP. Next you create a virtual directory as a subdirectory under your FTP Site pointing to the directory you want it to be the root directory for your FTP User. Then you create a user (your ftp user) in Local User Manager. Now on the right hand side many options will be available under various categories like ASP.NET, FTP, IIS etcetera. First you should have a FTP Site Installed on your IIS. In the Connection Pane, a Server node will be available, you must expand this Server node and then click on your server. Now the IIS Manager Window will be opened, here on the left hand side you will see a pane named Connection pane. Now in the Administrative Tools many options will be available in the list, among which you must select the IIS Manager, and then double-click on it to open it.
